All good things come in fours. Founded in 2006, the band's name (a historical song by The Cure) indicates where the roots of the sound of this Swedish band lie. But those who worried about another imitation of Robert Smith were already convinced otherwise by their former releases "Afterglow" and "The Black Album": THE EXPLODING BOYs have taken a deep breath of the gothic's spirit and soul and releasing them with originality, verve and above all with great songs.

Their 4th album "FOUR" is truly a masterpiece ñ packed with unique and multifarious pop-odes which are not denying their origin, identity and character. Primarily the song is important - not the genre. For that reason it is refreshing when some components, partial reminding of Editors, are popping up once in a while.

Matured into perfect songwriters by now and with hymns like "Dark City (Pt. II)", "Street Cliche" or "Always", THE EXPLODING BOY's can proceed their triumphal course which advanced them into a celebrated act at festivals like Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Blackfield, Nordstern and Summer Darkness and a very special New Year's Eve gig in New York last year. And now Alt-Fest!
